Eppendorf divests micro manipulation product portfolio
"Eppendorf's micro manipulation and microinjection products are of the highest precision," said Dr. Peter Fruhstorfer, Co-CEO of the Eppendorf Group. "We are very pleased that this high-quality Eppendorf portfolio has been given a new home within Calibre Scientific. As part of this fast-growing, international company, the portfolio can continue to develop positively."
Eppendorf: pioneer in micromanipulator production
Eppendorf was one of the first suppliers of micromanipulators in the 1980s and has been supporting scientific research and work on experimental questions in the life science field with its high-precision devices ever since. The products coming with the transaction include TransferMan, InjectMan, CellTram, FemtoJet, PiezoXpert as well as other consumables and services.
With this acquisition, Calibre Scientific adds a leading range of micro manipulation and microinjection instruments to its growing portfolio. “We are excited to add Eppendorf’s micro manipulation product portfolio to Calibre Scientific’s growing life sciences solutions segment,” said Brian Wall, Executive Chairman of Calibre Scientific. “The micro manipulation portfolio is one of the global leaders in the cell microinjection sector with nearly 40 years of brand equity and a reputation for superior performance, reliability and ease of use. We are grateful to Eppendorf for trusting in us to be the next owner of the portfolio and we look forward to investing and capitalizing on the exciting growth opportunities within this niche of the cell biology market.”
Eppendorf and Calibre Scientific will be working closely in the following months to transition the micro manipulation product portfolio. The products will still be available to purchase from Eppendorf until May 2nd, 2023. Thereafter, they can be purchased from Calibre Scientific and its subsidiaries.
